Elk Hunts

Drop Camps:

Big Game Hunting Drop Camps are a more cost-efficient and independent way to hunt on your own. We drop you and your fellow hunters off at a location decided by you and your guide.  We even help pack out your animals from your camp. We require all drop campers to have their own satellite communication. We also require you to bring your own gear this way you know what you have and how to operate it.

Each guest is allowed 100 pounds of gear.  We do not recommend anyone do a drop camp alone. We will pack all of your gear and all hunters into camp via horseback.  You can stay at the drop camp site for up to 7 days.  We will remain in contact via satellite communication during your hunt.  If your group tags out we will get you and your game out as soon as possible.

South Piney Outfitters offer two different prices for an Elk drop camp in Areas 36 & 37:

$2,500- This service provides 100lbs of gear packed in on a pack animal and a riding animal for the hunter. With this package, you are paying for 1 pack animal, 1 riding animal, and 1 guide. 

$1,750- This service provides 100lbs of gear packed in on a pack animal for the hunter. With this package, you are paying for 1 pack animal and 1 guide. This is a more cost effective package for hunters who are willing to hike into camp.

Guided:

South Piney Outfitters is unique with their ability to offer multiple packages for elk. We offer Elk hunting on private land. In addition, we offer packages from semi-guided private hunting to a fully guided all inclusive hunt. These hunts are all spot and stalk hunts that are fun and challenging. Elk  (Private Land) (Area 129, Region E): 

5 Day, All-inclusive Hunt: $8,500

5 Day, Semi Guided with Lodging: $7,250

5 Day, Semi Guided: $6,500

All-inclusive Package: This includes Lodging, Meals and Full Guiding Services.

Semi Guided with Lodging: Stay in our Hunting Lodge, these hunts are unguided. The Guide will show you around the property and key areas to check prior to your hunt. The Guide is available and on the property at all times to assist in your hunt. You must check in your animal with the Outfitter prior to your departure.
